Terms & Conditions
By placing an order with Divine Wedding Cakes, you agree to these terms and conditions.
Prices and Quotations
There is no standard price for cakes, as all are individually made, so you will be quoted according to your requirements. Quotes are valid for one month. When we quote, please remember that your date won’t be reserved until payment of a deposit. Any changes to your order after quotation may incur an additional charge.
Covid-19
Because of the current coronavirus pandemic, the terms and conditions in this paragraph may override some of our normal T&Cs below.
Deposits – We are currently offering a deposit guarantee for weddings booked for 2021 and 2022. We know it’s difficult to get wedding insurance at this time, and we don’t know when things will return to normal. We can offer some confidence when you book a wedding cake with us. For a limited time we guarantee that if you need to postpone your wedding because of government or local restrictions, your deposit will be transferred to a new date without loss (subject to the new date being available to us – if it is not, we will refund your deposit). This will enable you to book with confidence.
Delivery – We will deliver to your venue at a pre-arranged time. In order to minimise contact, we may not be able to enter the venue. If this is the case, please arrange in advance for someone to meet us outside, where we can safely pass over the finished cake.
Payments and Deposits
We require a 25% non-refundable deposit to confirm an order and reserve the date. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks before the delivery/collection date. Orders placed less than 2 weeks in advance of the delivery date must be paid in full. Failure to complete payment 2 weeks before the delivery date may result in your order being delayed or cancelled.
Once we quote and you pay a deposit, we will make every effort to maintain the quoted price. However, under exceptional circumstances, for example an unexpectedly large increase in production and/or delivery costs, we reserve the right to increase the price by a reasonable and proportionate amount.
Cancellations and Refunds
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances (except for our Covid-19 deposit guarantee above).
Part and full payments are non-refundable if cancellation is made less than 2 weeks in advance of the delivery date. If you wish to re-book your wedding on a different date, we will try to accommodate this, but we cannot guarantee availability. In the very unlikely event that we have to cancel your order for reasons of our own, (e.g. staff illness) then we will give you as much notice as possible, and will refund all monies paid by you.
Availability and Supply Issues
Currently, the UK is experiencing issues with the supply of various food and other items. We will always try to overcome any issues to make the cake you ordered, but for circumstances beyond or control, we cannot be held liable for any changes or shortages to you order.
Special Dietary Requirements and Allergies
Please let us know if you have special dietary requirements when asking for a quotation. We will do our best to meet any such request, however please be aware that we routinely handle ingredients such as nuts, wheat, dairy products etc. in our kitchens. In addition, products we use such as roll-out icing do not have nuts on the ingredient list, but they are not guaranteed nut-free by the manufacturers. Our cake are regrettably therefore not suitable for those with significant allergies.
Non- Edible Items
Our cakes sometimes use non-edible items, such as dowels in tiered cakes, wires in sugar flower arrangements, or non-edible fresh flowers. Please ensure any non-edible items are removed before serving.
Cake Designs
Images on this website are examples of our past work. Whatever design you choose, whether from our portfolio or a custom design, we will do our best to reproduce it to your exact requirements. However, please remember that with any handmade product, there will be small variations in design. If circumstances dictate (eg weather conditions) we reserve the right to make changes to the design at short notice.
Delivery or Collection
Please let us know the best time slot for delivery of your cake to the venue. If you wish for us to set up the cake, please ensure there will be a suitable table and cloth etc. ready at the venue for when we arrive. If this is not ready we may be unable to set the cake up.
Once we have delivered, or delivered and set up the cake, we cannot be liable for any damage occurring after this.
The UK is currently experiencing potential fuel shortages, we will always try to reserve enough fuel to fulfil your delivery, but we cannot be held liable for circumstances beyond our control.
Weather Conditions
Snow, ice or flooding may affect our ability to deliver your cake. In summer, hot weather can cause problems to cakes, depending on the type of cake and its display location. We are happy to advise on this, but will not be held liable for any circumstances beyond our control.
Marquees
If your cake is to be set up in a marquee, please let us know before ordering, so we can advise accordingly.
