ROLLED FONDANT Sometimes known as ‘sugarpaste’ or just plain ‘fondant’. Unless flavoured otherwise, has a subtle vanilla flavour, melt-in-the-mouth smooth texture, and is soft to cut.
CHOCOLATE Can be pure milk, white or dark chocolate; mixed with fondant to form a chocolate icing; or blended with fresh cream to make chocolate ganache.
BUTTERCREAM/FROSTING In the UK – buttercream (with real butter), in the US – frosting (normally made with a vegetable fat, not butter). Soft cutting, can be textured.
ROYAL ICING A traditional icing made with egg whites and icing sugar. Firmer than fondant icing, but not too hard if made properly!
NAKED As the name suggests, un-iced, except sometimes topped with buttercream (semi-naked)

STACKED Each tier is placed on top of one another, with no spacing. The upper tiers are still on (hidden) cake boards however, so they can be separated for individual cutting.
PILLARS/SEPARATOR These methods of spacing the tiers and adding height come in many sizes and types, click the tag to see some examples.
SUPPORT STAND Chrome plated metal stands, which support each tier individually. Allows space on top of all tiers for decorations, such as sugar flowers.
SILVER STAND We have round and square ornate silver stands available for displaying your cake.
PEDESTAL STAND Round, vintage style porcelain stand.
TREE SLICE STAND Our tree slice, complete with bark and natural grain.
